Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers for a wide variety of positions!
We are actively looking for volunteers to help with anything from cleaning to socializing to transportation! Please read very carefully below to see if you qualify, or are interested in the positions we have available.
Before you start:
* Are you 18 years of age or older?
* If you are not 18 years of age or older, do you have a consenting adult to volunteer with you?
* Does your schedule allow for consistent volunteering?
* Do you have experience working with animals?
* It’s best to have some knowledge about companion animal behavior and health, but we can provide that training if needed.
* We will ask you to fill out a volunteer application below and we will have you meet with the director to discuss your application and interests.
What you need:
* To be at least 18 years of age, or have a consenting adult approve you to volunteer and come with you.
* An approved volunteer application. ( Apply at the bottom of this page! )
* Consistent availability / schedule.
* Any experience working with animals is a plus!
If my application is accepted:
I hereby agree to accept a position as a volunteer worker for The Humane Society of Freeborn County, and in doing so, I agree to comply with all of the rules, regulations and policies established and implemented by The Humane Society of Freeborn County.
I acknowledge that my services are provided strictly on a volunteer basis, without any pay or compensation of any kind, and without liability of any nature on behalf of The Humane Society of Freeborn County. All services are performed at my own risk.
I recognize that in handling animals and performing other volunteer tasks there exists a risk of injury including physical harm caused by the animals. I am hereby given notice that The Freeborn County Humane Society can, does, and has housed dangerous / quarantined animals when directed by the City of Albert Lea, County of Freeborn and the State of Minnesota, and hereby agree to follow ALL procedures / policies regarding their care, management and handling.
On behalf of myself, my heirs, person representatives and executors, I hereby release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless The Freeborn County Humane Society, it's agents, servants, and employees from any and all claims, causes of action, demands, or any nature or cause, including costs and attorney's fees incurred by The Freeborn County Humane Society in connection with the same, based on damages or injuries which may be incurred or sustained by me in any way connected with my services for The Humane Society of Freeborn County, including but not limited to animal bites, accidents or injuries.
By submitting this application, I affirm that the facts set forth in it are true and complete. I understand that if I am accepted as a volunteer, and false statements, omissions, or other misrepresentations made by me on this application, or failure to follow rules, regulations and policies may result in my immediate dismissal. I also understand that this shelter has the right to accept or deny my volunteer application.
